Biography
Henry Lee Williams was born March 28, 1976 to Gary and Joann Williams in the city of Little Rock , Arkansas. Henry grew up, surrounded by family and friends, in the John Barrow Edition of West Little Rock. He attended Wilson, Western Hills, and Williams Magnet Elementary Schools, before going on to Henderson Jr. High and the J.A. Fair High School. Henry attempted to play football in Jr. High and High School, but soon realized that his academic skills far outweigh any athletic ability he didn't have, though he was a regular in the "street" football and baseball games on Elam and Zion Streets. Henry could also be frequently found playing video games with his cousins in the infamous "Raggedy Dome", also know as Doyle and David's room. Before there was Playstation 2 and Xbox, there was the regular Nintendo, and nothing passed the time like a good old fashion game of Double Dribble, or Henry's personal favorite Techmo Bowl. Those were the days. After graduating high school, Henry went on to Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, but after a year in school, he decided he wanted to become one of the few, the proud, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. In the Marine Corps, Henry learned the discipline and leadership that still stick with him to this day. Henry would eventually meet and marry a young lady he had met while in college, they would go on to have two beautiful angels, Deion and Aleysa. It is because of those two beautiful children that Henry has a reason to wake each morning. Never before had his life been filled with so much joy and love. Henry loves spending time playing with his children, taking walks, reading, writing, drawing, and relaxing outside watching the world go by. He is a quiet person who enjoys a quiet evening home alone over a smoke-filled loud club any day. He enjoys movies, bowling, miniature golf, and going to museums and sporting events.
While in the end his marriage was unable to work out, he now has full custody of his children and lives happily with them in Little Rock.
When Henry was seventeen years old his very best friend in school was a young lady named Brandy. Now he just knew that he was in love with Brandy, there was nothing about her he didn't like, but he was a shy, quiet, young man who never really took much time trying to talk to too many girls. So he decided that since he couldn't talk to her face to face he would sit down and write her how he felt, this is what he came up with;
Roses are red, violets are blue
I wish you knew how I feel about you
I like you so much it is hard to say
Because of you I look forward to school each day
My very best friend you will always be
And maybe one day you will want more from me
I just want you to know your wish is my command
I just want you to know I wish I was your man
That was the very first poem he had ever written, but even as he wrote it, he knew he was not writing this so that Brandy would fall madly in love with him and be his girl for the rest of time. He was simply writing to let her know how he felt. See he doesn't write to make women love him, he doesn`t write to get young ladies to think he is such a sweet young man, and he doesn`t write to get women to want to be with him. All he does is write what he feels. He is a young black man with beautiful, adorable, wonderful children whom he loves more than life itself, he has felt love, joy, happiness, and pain. He has watched the woman he felt he was "destined" to be with simply walk away from his life, he has cried, he has laughed, he has gone from being the love of a woman's life to not being loved at all. He has met people who give him a reason to wake up each morning, he has met young ladies whose smiles simply melts his heart. And those are the things he writes about, that's where his words come from. He is a simple man, who writes humble words, and if you feel the words he writes are beautiful, its not because of him, its because of all the wonderful, incredible, beautiful, adorable, loving people who have touched his life, it's because of those people that he can take simple words and make them seem extraordinary.
